Mike Young’s young Hokies were brought back down to reality. After an impressive six game winning streak to open the year, observers were (rightfully) adjusting their opinions and expectations of Virginia Tech this season. They didn’t look like a team that would finish 14th in the ACC. Nor had people expected Landers Nolley and Nahiem Alleyne to get off to such a great start to their collegiate careers.
Then came Dayton. Then BYU. Then a brutal second half against Duke. Suddenly the perfect 6-0 start, was at 6-3 and a team searching for consistency. To be fair the team is young - both in their academic class and time together as a group. Plus all three teams they lost to very likely could end up in the NCAA Tournament this year. So following the Duke result, how were fans in Hokie Nation feeling?

Week 6 - Fans Still Believe
Despite dropping three in a row, Tech fans are still feeling confident in the direction of the program. 95% of voters are positive about Mike Young and the Hokies. Even after two tough matches in Hawaii, it was the way that VT opened the game against Duke that likely kept confidence this high.
Now with four straight home games against non-conference opponents Tech has the chance to find their momentum again. The Hokies could end December at 10-3 heading into a showdown with UVA in early January.
Note: The survey was sent out prior to the win over Chattanooga this week.
