Wrestling

The No. 14 Virginia Tech Hokies handily defeated the No. 22 Virginia Cavaliers, 30-6. VT straight up won eight of the ten match-ups. The Fighting Gobblers improve to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. This Friday the Hokies host the No. 10 N.C. State Wolfpack in something of a grudge match. Last year NCST squeaked by VT, 19-15, handing Virginia Tech their only regular season conference loss. Get some, gentleman!

Lacrosse

The Hokies suffered their second consecutive loss, against No. 20 Colorado, 6-17, and sit with a 1-2 overall record. Tomorrow the Hokies look to recover and return to their winning ways when they host the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Softball

Wow... the women of Virginia Tech’s softball squad did it again! They invaded Charleston, SC and swept the four games of the Wingate by Wyndham Invitational with a combined score of 35-8! The Hokies improve to 9-0 overall. It’s no surprise that VT is garnering some attention and votes in the NCAA rankings poll! This Friday they kick off the USF-Rawlings Invitational against Texas State! Great start to the season ladies!

Women’s Basketball

One step forward and one step back. On Valentine’s Day the Hokies collected their third conference win, defeating the Duke Blue Devils, 64-57. They then fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 76-68. Virginia Tech now sits with an overall record of 16-9 and a conference mark of 3-9. Probably looking at an invitation to the WNIT at this point, but maybe they will squeak into the NCAA tournament if they can win their last four games! This Thursday VT hosts the Miami-Florida Hurricanes.

Track and Field

This weekend the No. 20 Virginia Tech Hokies will host the Indoor Track and Field ACC Championship!

Commonwealth Clash Update

The Commonwealth Clash website does not currently account for the VT wrestling win over UVA or the Cavalier basketball victory over the Fighting Gobblers. Once updated the Hokies will lead the Hoos 5.0-3.5!

Great work Hokies! Best of luck in the coming week!

GO HOKIES!!!
