The Atlantic Coast Conference released their preseason baseball poll on Friday, as we are under a week away from the first pitch of the 2019 season.
The Louisville Cardinals were picked to win the Atlantic Division, as well as win the conference overall (they’re loaded), while the North Carolina Tar Heels were picked to win the Coastal Division.
Per the release, Louisville was selected as the Atlantic Division winner by seven coaches, while Florida State, the two-time reigning conference champion, received six votes and Clemson received one.
In the Coastal, it was much more lopsided. North Carolina was picked to win the division by 13 coaches, while Virginia received one first place vote.
The Hokies boast a roster full of freshmen and sophomores in John Szefc’s second season in Blacksburg, and as such, are facing their fair share of doubters heading into the new campaign. The Hokies were picked to finish dead last in the Coastal Division for 2019.
The full standings can be found below, with the first place votes represented by parentheses.
