Women’s Basketball
Sadly, the Hokies did not make the cut for the NCAA Tournament, but they did secure another berth in the WNIT! Last year Virginia Tech made it to the WNIT Championship, but fell to the Indiana Hoosiers. This year VT kicked off their efforts with a dominating 92-65 win over the Furman Paladins. Sunday the Hokies host in-state rivals, VCU! Keep up the good work ladies!

As of this writing redshirt freshmen phenom, Mekhi Lewis, has upset his way all the way to All-American honors and a spot in his class championship round. Zack Zavatsky also locked up All-American honors. Stay tuned to Gobbler Country for more on the wrestling season as the tournament comes to a close!

The Fighting Gobblers finally got the ranked opponent monkey off their back when they defeated No. 13 Denver, in overtime, 15-14! They followed up their best win of the season with a victory over Elon. Virginia Tech has now improved to 7-4 (all loses against ranked foes), and will return to conference play today when they face the Louisville Cardinals.
