Freshman forward Landers Nolley has entered the transfer portal. Nolley was a highly ranked four star out of Georgia last year and was a big name for the Hokies to bring in. Due to NCAA investigation for a big part of the year resulting in a red shirt tag, he did not see any playing time for Hokies.

Similar to the now de-commited Anthony Harris, Nolley was supposed to be a center piece for the Hokies coming into next season. With Buzz heading to Texas A&M, it has made several of his recruits decide to look for other opportunities.
Nolley would be a big blow if he ends up transferring and him leaving wouldn’t be the start Mike Young was looking for, but there may be a chance he stays in Blacksburg. Following the investigation sitting a year, some big name schools might not pay too much attention to him despite being a big name out of high school a year ago.
If he stays that’s great and he’ll be a key to our team’s success, but if he’s not going to buy in to the new coach and where the program wants to go, it’s better he go now. I very much hope he stays and that he becomes huge for us, but we’ll have to wait and see...
