Long Time Virginia Tech Hokie Defensive Coordinator Announces Retirement after 2019

OK... time to get all nostalgic. Bud Foster has announced that he’s going to make the 2019 season his last... as a coach anyway. He’s not moving on to somewhere else, he’s retiring. This team needs to make his last season as a Hokie Coach his best. He’ll always be a Hokie. Thanks Coach!

Hanging up the Coach Shoes

Bud Foster makes it official. It seems that those of us who were figuring that Bud was nearing the end of the trail seem to have gotten it right.

Bud Foster announces his retirement at the end of the 2019 Season.

Of course the tributes are flowing in, Charley Wiles has been with Foster since college.

Here is Justin Fuente’s response in today’s presser:

We’ll just allow the coach to do his own talking for now.

Last season wasn’t the best for many many reasons. Good teams with great coaches rise to occasions, and this defense seems to be responding with an outpouring of serious soul. Well, you have 12 games in the 2019 regular season, and Coach Foster’s Senior Day could be a Bowl Game. Guys... Make it a great one.

Stay with Gobbler Country, Bryan is going to bring us some great memories. But there is still an entire season to be played, and this team needs to win it big!

GO HOKIES!!!
