The Big Questions
It’s going to be cool fall weather with rain in the forecast and the starting roster has still not been announced.
Who Starts for the Hokies at Quarterback?
Is it Hendon Hooker, who they promised was ready to play, or is it Braxton Burmeister who has a 2-0 starting record with the Hokies? That answer will come, and the better bet would be that both will play since Hendon is going to be a bit rusty with the Offense.
Will the Offensive Line handle the Tar Heels’ Defensive Line?
The Heels have an ‘paper’ reputation for having a stingy D-Line for the run game. The key for the Hokies will be that new double deep #ViceSquad gets out and moves people out of holes, and blocks for the passing game.
Will the Running Backs continue their success?
Kahlil Herbert has been 300+ yards of fantastic for 2 games, and Raheem Blackshear has been starting to light the fires, too. Will the refounded Hokie running game keep the ball moving in the predicted bad weather. Sloppy conditions mean working to hang on to the ball, and keep burning clock.
Will the Special Teams keep making a positive difference?
Herbert is wearing the #25 for his 150 yard return game, last week. Will the Hokies maintain that momentum. The punt team had an initial error, but recovered and pinned Duke down inside their 20, twice. Can they get it done again? Will we need Brian Johnson’s improved accuracy to get this one done? Lots of Shibest questions in this one.
And, will there be an improved emphasis on the passing game? Will we get Tre Turner involved with his explosive plays? Will we see Raheem Blackshear out of the backfield, and will Tayvion have a better day hanging on to the ball?
