Game Particulars
Saturday is pivotal game #1 for the Hokies. The team visits a #8 ranked 2-0 Carolina. The Heels have also gotten a COVID bitten start, with huge gaps between games and several cancellations. Their first win against Syracuse was a 31-6 romp, but Dino’s Orange are struggling this season. BC almost pulled off a late 4th quarter tie game, but botched conversion that gave away the game to the struggling Tar Heels. We don’t expect them to struggle for much longer, though. It’s still a dangerous football team, and Tech needs to come loaded for goat.
The Weather Could be a Factor
Our usual source of weather information has been right on for two games. Weather Underground is predicting 68-70 degrees and light to variable rain (60% chance) for game time. Good, Virginia Tech has always played well in the mud.
As mentioned the kickoff time is the early college time slot of Noon, but the bonus is that the game is going to be broadcast on ABC which means a bunch of Hokies are going to get it for a change.

The Hokies wore Orange over White for the 2017 contest at Lane for Orange Effect. We’ll see how this away uniform works out.
Who’s Wearing the #25 Jersey?
After last week’s performance, and an ACC Special Teams player of the week award, is there any doubt on this planet that Khalil Herbert will be sporting the #25 for his 150 yard return effort.
JUICE ALERT @JuiceHerbert will be wearing the 2️⃣5️⃣ for the first time on Saturday!

Just to remind everyone that a blade of grass going the wrong way can make a difference...but the effort resulted in 6 a bit later, anyway.

Let’s Talk Turkey
So pull up a coffee cup and listen in on Bryan and John as they go over the game preview.
Prediction
John’s going out on a limb. Carolina is a good team, but not #8. It’s going to be a “not close “game, with the Hokies out on top 42-24.
Poll
So what’s the result in Chapel Hill?
This poll is closed
-
15%
Hokies run out of a bit of luck and can’t run. Hooker is rusty, and the offense sputters. The Hokie D works but not enough. Tar Heels by 3 and the O/U is 50
-
42%
Hokies show up in force. Fuente asserts his 10-1 dominance over Carolina Teams and the Offense under any of the QB’s runs and passes well. Hokies by more than a TD with O/U around 70.
-
7%
We have a repeat of the last game between these two. The blood is bad, and the game is tight with Carolina nipping it in an OT contest with a 50 O/U
-
33%
The game is close, but the Hokies end up on top with a big leg effort from a last second trip to FG range. Hokies by 3 O/U around 50.
See you online at the game. 1200 EDT - John will be on Facebook Live afterward, and hopefully we have something good to talk about.
