Saturday, the Flames head to Tech on the busses from Lynchburg. Who knows, their busses might pass ours on the drive down from Roanoke (well up Christiansburg Mountain anyway). The Flames aren’t the same team that we faced back in 2016, that’s for certain. Their concerted effort to find a Division 1 coach, and push to maintain some form of schedule during the season tells you how serious they are about competing.

Conditions are Nearly Perfect

They are coming to a nearly empty Lane Stadium, on a beautiful day which by game time will be in the high-60’s There aren’t supposed to be two clouds in the sky, so the Worsham Field is going to be warm and very bright. We checked with Weather Underground and there just doesn’t seem to be a negative wave in the mix. The kickoff will likely be really close to noon, and will be streamed on the ACCNetwork (if you are on Comcast/Xfinity it’s either the radio, or you have Hulu or Fubo).

SIR! THE UNIFORM OF THE DAY IS ALL MAROON! SIR!

So, there are lots of folks that’ll like this one. With the temps on the warm side, the lighter uniform might have been a better choice, but it’s really tough to beat the All Maroons.

Very Cool Announcement Guys... Very Cool.

A New Name Gets the #25 Jersey for Saturday’s Game

Dean Ferguson, reserve linebacker who is making a name for himself on Special Teams, got the big hustle award for the week.

Congratulations Dean!

PFF had another announcement that we missed in the superlatives list. Christian Darrisaw graded as the best Offensive lineman in their calculations.

John Goes on the Record:

It’s going to be a leg and pass shootout. The Flames are better than people think and challenge hard but Tech is just bigger, stronger and just as capable of burning up clock and yards in the ground or in the air. Hendon Hooker and Khalil Herbert have really good days.

Ok... that’s either the poll or the comments. Tell us how you feel about it.
