Virginia Tech vs. Miami - Preview & How to Watch

Looking for revenge for last month’s loss.

NCAA Basketball: Pittsburgh at Virginia Tech Michael Thomas Shroyer-USA TODAY Sports

Saturday evening the Virginia Tech Hokies hosted the Pittsburgh Panthers and Cassell Coliseum was treated to the team everyone got to know from November through mid-January. After a series of tough breaks or complete collapses over the past few weeks, Tech controlled the game and put together an all-around performance.

The result lifted the program to their 15th win on the season. If you recall, Buzz Williams’ first season ended with 11 wins. The Hokies are 10th in the ACC, but on Wednesday line up against the only team remaining on the schedule that is lower than them in the standings. The Hurricanes only have three wins from their last 13 games, but one of those was a 10 point victory over Tech.

With the revenge factor, Saturday’s big win, and once again playing in front of a big crowd in Cassell Coliseum, Mike Young won’t need any help motivating this squad. Landers Nolley had a quiet night against Pittsburgh only scoring seven, so look for him to bounce back Wednesday night. Before we get to this week’s game details, here is a great look back at Saturday’s win.
