This is NFL Combine week and it’s only fitting that one player who should be in the NFL, is making his case to get back. Cam Phillips of the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, was named XFL Star of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The former Hokie is coming off back-to-back three-touchdown performances for the Roughnecks who remain the only undefeated team in the upstart league.
Through three games, Phillips leads the XFL in receiving yards (324) and touchdowns (seven), while also sharing the league-lead with 20 receptions. He, along with his quarterback, P.J. Walker, are arguably the two best players in the league thus far.
There is still plenty of time left in the XFL season, but there’s nothing to indicate that Phillips will slow down anytime soon.
If you’re a football fan, you should really check the XFL out. No, it isn’t the NFL but it is a unique product and the action has been highly entertaining over the first few weeks of the season.
And, it doesn’t hurt that a Hokie is the top player in the league.
