Virginia Tech travels to Indiana this weekend to face Notre Dame, whose NCAA Tournament hopes are slipping away. The Fighting Irish have lost their last two games - against Wake Forest and Florida State - and now sit seventh in the ACC standings. ESPN has Notre Dame as the heavy favorites on Saturday and the pressure will be on them to get the win at home.
Meanwhile for Mike Young’s team they are playing for a bye in the ACC Tournament. After the way the second half of the season has gone that sounds a bit ridiculous, but it’s a reminder of how big the ACC actually is. The bottom four teams have to play an extra game next Tuesday - Virginia Tech currently sits 6th from the bottom.
Here is a quick look at how to follow Saturday’s game and the stat leaders for both sides.

Notre Dame will be playing in the post season. How Saturday and the ACC Tournament goes will decide if it’s a late push into the NCAA or settle for a NIT bid. The Hokies will have a tall task in stopping John Mooney who leads the Irish in points and rebounds, shooting nearly 50% on the season. One last tune-up for the Hokies before the ACC Tournament.
