The Virginia Tech Hokies received some good news on the recruiting front Friday when three-star wide receiver, Jaylen Jones, made his pledge to Virginia Tech.

At 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Jones plays his high school ball at Thomas Jefferson High in Richmond.
He is Virginia Tech’s sixth commitment for the class of 2021 and first since four-star quarterback Dematrius Davis backed out of his pledge two weeks ago.
Jones is a good get for the Hokies. While is ranked as the No. 30 overall player in Virginia for the 2021 cycle, per 247Sports, he plays at the Class A level and that likely knocks down his ranking a bit. The competition isn’t too strong at that level.
As a junior in 2019, Jones caught 76 passes for 1,369 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Jones chose the Hokies over Pittsburgh, who was his other finalist.
