Lofton is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete from North Side High School in Fort Worth, Texas. As a junior in 2019, Lofton played on both sides of the ball. He rushed for over 300 yards, scoring 13 touchdowns, while catching 55 passes for over 1,200 yards and 12 additional scores.
Lofton will play wide receiver at Virginia Tech.
What are the Hokies getting in Lofton?
Lofton is quick in and out of his breaks. Some of his film looks incredible. He could easily play inside or outside at the next level, but could be dynamic as a slot receiver. He has terrific hands.
Much like Tray Curry, Lofton’s commitment came out of nowhere. While the Hokies have been recruiting him for awhile, he was long expected to choose Mississippi State. The coaches did a good job of selling Lofton on Virginia Tech.
Now, just like every other player in this class, they have to keep him.
Lofton is Virginia Tech’s 16th commitment in the 2021 class and the team ranks No. 42 overall in 247Sports composite team rankings.
