Virginia Tech Hokies vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack: Official Gobbler Country Game Thread

It’s FINALLY Game Day! The Hokies host the Wolfpack in mostly empty Lane Stadium. It was sadly and eerily quiet in Blacksburg, today. There were a few folks looking for indoor parties and viewing, but the campus and town were quiet. Let’s hope that the Hokies bring their own big energy. GO HOKIES!!!!

How does this go with an empty Lane?

So, the Wolfpack from North Carolina State visits, with Brian Mitchell and Charlie Wiles on staff, and not a lot of other experience with Tech. The last matchup between these two teams was October 9, 2015 and that ended with a Virginia Tech 28 to 13 victory. We’ve only met 10 times prior in the modern era (since 1986). The Hokies hold a 7-2-1 record against the ‘pack during that time. This is the firs time that Justin Fuente’s Hokies tee it up against NC State. Let’s see what happens. Comment away it’s going to be as fun as we can make it.

We get to see the big questions answered.

Is the Offensive Line going to be as good as it looks on paper?

Is Hooker or Burmeister going to start? And who is going to play more?

Is the new Hokie Defensive coaching staff going to pick up the #LPD and #DBU where it was in 2017?

Is the Empty Lane Stadium going to be a factor?

Time to go hunting the first ‘W’ of the season.
