For the first time since 1999 the Virginia Tech Hokies women’s basketball team has found their way into the Associated Press Preseason Poll. At number 24, the Hokies have 98 points and are bracketed by the Texas A&M Aggies at number 23 (123-points) and the University of Texas Longhorns (79-points).

Head Coach, Kenny Brooks, and the Hokies have suffered a drought out of the top-25 since 2017. Last year Virginia Tech finished the season 15-10 overall with an 8-8 conference record. They did receive an invite to the NCAA tournament and defeated Marquette in the first round, but ultimately fell to No. 5 Baylor during the second round.

The Hokies are less than a month from opening their season on November 9, at Cassell Coliseum, against the Davidson College Wildcats! Since Coach Brooks joined Virginia Tech in 2017 he has done a solid job developing the team and making them a regular in post-season tournaments. Congratulations on the preseason ranking!
