It’s been a busy month for the Virginia Tech Hokies in the world of recruiting. The NCAA lifted the dead period on recruiting on June 1, meaning in-person recruiting could resume for the first time since March 2020.
The Hokies have hosted players all month for one-day camps, official visits, or just players stopping in to see the campus and meet with the coaching staff.
So far this month, Virginia Tech has landed seven commitments for the class of 2022. The Hokies currently have 12 commitments in the class, which ranks No. 24 in the 247Sports composite team rankings.
Could two more commitments be on the way in July?
Two of Tech’s top targets, offensive lineman Gunner Givens of Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville, announced on Twitter he is committing on July 16.
I will be committing on July 16‼️

It’s widely expected that Givens will decide between the Hokies and Penn State. Givens currently has all seven predictions to the Hokies in the 247Sports crystal ball.
Another top target, defensive lineman Rashaud Pernell, is a 6-foot-4, 250-pounder from Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Virginia, announced on Friday he was committing on July 4.

Pernell currently has all four predictions to Virginia Tech in the 247Sports crystal ball.
Both of these players would be big additions for Virginia Tech regarding talent on the field and perception off the field. These are really good players from the state of Virginia — the Hokies need to keep these types of players home.
