The Virginia Tech Hokies will meet the defending Atlantic-10 champions, St. Bonaventure, in the first-ever Basketball Hall of Fame Shootout to be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
The game will be played on Friday, Dec. 17.
This game will feature several outstanding matchups such as N.C. State vs. Richmond, Charlotte vs. Wake Forest and East Carolina vs. Liberty.
This is the second prominent tournament Virginia Tech will play in during the 2021-22 season, as Tech will be one of the featured teams in the 2021 NIT Tip-Off Tournament held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Time to update those calendars, #HokieNation

These two schools actually have a history dating back to when Virginia Tech played in the Atlantic-10 for basketball for five seasons in the 90s. Virginia Tech leads the all-time series, 11-5, and has won the previous three meetings. The two schools haven’t played since 2011.
For the first time in its history, St. Bonaventure won the regular season and conference tournament in 2020-21.
This will be another good test for the Hokies on the hardwood next season.
