Women’s Soccer

VT went undefeated in the preseason (4-0), beating Loyola (2-0), Richmond (2-0), Liberty (3-0), and William & Mary (1-0). The actual season started last night when the Hokies hosted blasted Elon at Thompson Field, winning 7-1! Last year the ladies of VT finished the season 8-9. This year the Hokies hope to recapture a 2019 performance that earned them a berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament. Next up, they travel to Cincinnati to face the Bearcats on Sunday.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s program also kicked off their season last night, during the Fairfield Inn by Marriott JMU Invitational, breaking even against Kansas City, 2-2. VT jumped to an early lead, but KC fought back to tie it up before the end of regulation. During extra time inclement weather forced the game to be called early. Last year the Hokies went 7-6-4 and, like the women’s program, they are looking to recapture what they found in 2019 when they made it to the second round of the NCAA Championship Tournament.

Volleyball

The Hokies start the season tonight where VT will host the Virginia Tech Invitational. Their first match will be against Lehigh at Cassell Coliseum. The women of Virginia Tech are looking to improve on head coach, Marci Byers, first year effort of 6-11 (5-11 conference).

Cross Country

Next month, on September 1, the Hokies open the season in Blacksburg at the Virginia Tech Invitational.

Women’s Golf

Traveling to Ann Arbor, MI, Virginia Tech will start their season at the Wolverine Invitational (13-14 September). Last year the Hokies had a record-breaking season capped off by the program’s first qualification for the NCAA Championships!

Men’s Golf

Also kicking off next month, from 11-12 September, the Hokies head to Durham, NC for the Rod Myers Invitational.

Swimming and Diving

Last, but not least, the Virginia Tech swimming and diving team will start their season in late September when they host the Hokie Belt Challenge Dual on September 26!

Be sure to check back for updates on Virginia Tech’s multiple athletic efforts throughout the season!

As always...

GO HOKIES!!!
