Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Tulane Green Wave: Military Bowl Predictions

This is a game that Virginia Tech should win. Which concerns the tar out of lots of us. Hokies have been having issues with “should wins”. GO HOKIES!!!!

It’s the 13th Game, and the Team is Excited for the Opportunity

The team is largely intact, but if this is the uniform, I am suddenly worried. Is Pry trying to break a curse? Orange pants? Brent! The white over maroons worked great. Sure, hope you didn’t bring bad juju on the equipment truck.

The Last #25 for 2023 Goes to Punter Peter Moore

Let’s hope that Peter gets to be the special teams captain from the sidelines for the entire game. I’d prefer the offense to score on every possession and let Peter practice snaps and drops on the sideline.

I don’t want to get overly excited over some of the recent good news regarding the program and think the Hokies are just going to roll over a good football team. However, Tulane has lost a lot since its last game. The Green Wave lost their coach (Willie Fritz) and quarterback (Michael Pratt). Other players have opted out, too.

Tulane has been excellent the past few years, led by Fritz and Pratt, but what will see on Wednesday? I think that obviously favors the Hokies. Most of Virginia Tech’s roster is intact for the Military Bowl, with the exception of tight end Dae’Quan Wright. I believe QB Kyron Drones and RB Bhayshul Tuten will have big games and lead the Hokies to their first bowl win in what feels like forever.

Virginia Tech 31, Tulane 20

This one feels like it should be a repeat of the UVA blowout. Tulane is missing so many pieces, and Tech is missing two Safeties (to injury not leaving). There is just no telling me that an 11-1 regular-season team is going to roll over and play dead. Tulane is still dangerous. Their offense can still run the ball, and their defense is still capable. AND Tech has been famous, recently, for shutting down against winning opponents.

Maybe Coach Pry needs to talk the guys into shutting down Tulane, instead.

I think this one stays in line with the O/U but if Tulane can’t muster any real offense, they will struggle to put points on the board. The spread seems to be more than fair. The Hokies need this win, and the Green Wave just wants to re-organize.

38-17 Hokies

There, don’t make me wrong on this one, guys... please.

We’ll pick up any NFL Draft news, and we’ll be back with Spring Practice and Game coverage for 2024. Basketball is the king and queen of the coverage until baseball season starts.
