Hurricane Matthew is going to miss south east Florida, but right now the Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina coasts are in for a beating. We'll be thinking about those folks and hoping for the best. Meanwhile though, that means the Game is On. And we'll see how the general weather pattern will be on Game Day in Chapel Hill.
The tracks are bending out into the Atlantic but Matthew is still menacing the coasts of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. The cone is currently outside of the Raleigh-Durham area but it's still no guarantee and the storms on the northwest side of an active hurricane can be bad. We'll keep you updated.
The current NOAA aggregate track map shows Matthew heading through the Bahamas and right into the Gulf Stream to bang along the east coast and threaten everything from the Atlantic Coast of Florida to the Virginia Capes. This is a nasty one folks. Lots of states of emergency being declared.
The computer model spaghetti tracks that are currently covering the East Coast say that as of this morning, North Carolina and Virginia are going to get plowed by Matthew. North Carolina has already declared a state of emergency. We'll be tracking this monster and updating Gobbler Country with what we can find out.
