We’d be disappointed, if this hadn’t been such a special season, and a major triumph of its own. The Virginia Tech Hokie Women’s Basketball Program has arrived, and though enduring a tough loss, has placed itself in the top ranks of women’s basketball for quite a while. GO HOKIES!!!!

Well, how about that. It was a battle, but the Lady Hokies are nearly there! The Ohio State Lady Buckeyes were playing hard, and physical. The Hokies matched and did them 10 points better in the end! Tech is in the Final Four! GO HOKIES!!!

Georgia Amoore, Kayana Traylor, and Liz Kitley in double figures, #4 ranked Virginia Tech leads wire to wire to end the Lady Vols’ season. It got close, but for the first time in program history, the Lady Hokies are in the Elite Eight! Great win! GO HOKIES!!!

UPDATE: Game Time Set - 6:30 PM Saturday March 25th! The Hokies beat the Lady Vols in the 2022 December warm-up period of the season. It was a close game on December 4th in Knoxville. Hokies took it and never looked back. The Lady Vols are looking for revenge. GO HOKIES!!!

Georgia Amoore starts the Hokies rolling with her 100th three, and South Dakota State never got closer than they did in the first 3 minutes of the game. The Lady Hokies advance to the Sweet Sixteen for only the 2nd time in program history, and do it breaking program records. GO HOKIES!!!
Virginia Tech Hokies Advance to the 2nd Round, Win over UT-Chattanooga: 58-33
Cassell Coliseum was rocking, the Hokies had to tone down the "Hokie" stuff because Tech was playing host to the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. That didn’t stop the fans, though. And it didn’t phase the Hokies, either. Big 58-33 defensive blanket for this one. GO HOKIES!!!

The Hokies started the season with a pre-season ranking of 14th, and not much buzz about doing more than getting an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Well, this team had none of that. They’re 4th in both major polls. What a season! GO HOKIES!!!

Holy Cow!... or is that Hokie Cow? Whatever! The Virginia Tech Hokie Women’s Basketball team is on fire. They smother the Duke Lady Blue Devils in the semifinals to advance to the finals for the first time, ever. GO HOKIES!!!
#8 Virginia Tech Hokies Dominate Miami to Reach the ACC Tournament Semi-Finals: 68-42
The Lady Hokies shine after a break, and trounce, throttle, and outscore the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals. Liz Kitley’s 53rd double-double, matched by Taylor Soule’s double-double, and G sinks 5 Threes! Duke is next. GO HOKIES!!!
It’s Post Season Accolade Time for the Virginia Tech Hokie Women’s Basketball Team
There are probably going to be more, but the Post season conference awards are a big deal for the players that win them. Virginia Tech’s Elizabeth Kitley pulls down her second ACC player of the year award, Georgia Amoore and Taylor Soule get team honors, and Tech gets ready for Selection Sunday. GO HOKIES!!!
#9 Virginia Tech Hokies Defeat Georgia Tech Lady Yellow Jackets: 65-52
The Hokie Women’s Basketball Team closed the 2022/23 season with a door slamming win over the Georgia Tech Lady Yellow Jackets. Center Elizabeth Kitley cemented her reputation, Kayana Traylor had another big game, and the Hokies dominated. GO HOKIES!!!
#9 Virginia Tech Hokies Defeat #22 North Carolina Tar Heels at the Buzzer: 61-59
Another ranked team falls, another ACC road win, and another record for Liz Kitley. The Hokies continue the dream season by winning a close one at the Buzzer. GO HOKIES!!!
#11 Virginia Tech Hokies Sweep the Wolf Pack by Double Digits: 75-62
Hokies Sweep NC State in a regular season for the first time, ever! Cassell was rocking and packed, Kitley with a Double-Double, Amoore with a Double-Double, and four total players in double figures. Great game! Big Win! GO HOKIES!!!
#11 Virginia Tech Hokies Roll the #9 Duke Lady Blue Devils: 61-45
The last time, Duke emptied their bench and fouled like crazy. They screened out both Liz Kitley and Georgia Amoore. Well, Liz and G put up 40 points (20 each) and Kitley double-doubled again. SO, DUKE LOST... BIGLY!!! GO HOKIES!!!
#11 Virginia Tech Takes Down #19 Florida State in a Critical Late Season Ranked Win: 84-70
Georgia Amoore quarterbacks a big win. With Liz Kitley on the bench for more than half the game, G and the team had to produce results - They all step up big time. GO HOKIES!!!
#11 Virginia Tech Hokies Beat the #22 NC State Wolfpack in Raleigh for the First Time: 73-61
The Hokies went on the road for the home stretch last few games of the season. The Wolfpack was ranked 22nd and more than that Tech has never won against them in Raleigh. Tech, in fact, rarely defeats NC State. This time was different. Amoore and Kitley lead again. Big win! GO HOKIES!!!!
#13 Virginia Tech Hokies Pull Away from the Syracuse Orange: 78-64
It was a slow, nail-biting start for the #13 Hokies, who had to overcome a problematic 1st quarter. They did, and then pulled away in the second half 4 players in double figures (almost 5). GO HOKIES!!!!
#13 Virginia Tech Hokies Women’s Basketball Rules JPJ, Again! Defeat the Wahoos: 72-60
Remember what we said about stopping the Hokies. You have to beat them up, and shut down both Kitley and Amoore. Kayana Traylor proves that if you shut down only one, someone else will fill the shoes. The Lady Hokies sweep the Hoos off the court in 2023. GO HOKIES!!!
#12 Virginia Tech Hokies Get Beaten Up by the #16 Duke Lady Blue Devils: 55-66
This had to be one of the worst losses of the season, not because of the score, but because of the nature of the game. Duke watched Notre Dame beat up the Hokies, so they did the same thing by the shovel full. They drain their bench and play a street brawl instead of a basketball game. GO HOKIES!!!
Virginia Tech Hokies Run Past the Wake Forest Lady Demon Deacons: 74-57
The #12 Hokies came off the road to defend the Cassell from the intruding Wake Forest Lady Demon Deacons. Wake made it look a bit pinchy in the 3rd quarter, but the Hokies found the accelerator, downshifted, and pulled away in the 4th. Hokies are 16-3 overall and 6-3 in the conference. GO HOKIES!!!
#12 Virginia Tech Hokies Beat the Pittsburgh Lady Panthers in PGH: 69 - 62
The Hokies needed to prove something and keep the ACC wins going. The "thing" to prove, was winning on the road, the ACC win speaks for itself, and really there is nothing like a win to keep the momentum up. Four players in double figures and two double-doubles. GO HOKIES!!!
#13 Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball Defeats Louisville in a Close but Satisfying: 81 - 79
This might have been the most satisfying close win in many years, actually 28 years to be precise. Four players in double figures, led by some real heart and Soule. GO HOKIES!!!
Virginia Tech Hokies Have a Rough Weekend on the Court Both Women and Men Lose Tough Games
Both of the basketball teams dropped their games - or were they street brawls? No one could tell, but neither Hokie basketball team came away with a win. Just reviewing through the tears. GO HOKIES!!!
